The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast five days of rain in Tamil Nadu due to atmospheric circulation and heat wave.
Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Tuticorin and Ramanathapuram districts are likely to receive heavy rains today. Light to moderate rain is expected in the south-eastern, Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Tiruppur districts tomorrow.
On April 24, the Western Ghats, adjoining districts and delta districts were forecast to receive moderate rainfall.
On April 25 and 26, the Western Ghats will receive light to moderate rainfall over the delta districts. Ettayapuram in Thoothukudi district received maximum rainfall of 4 cm in the last 24 hours.
