Chennai: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal regions are likely to experience rain on 21st and 22nd.
In this regard, a press release issued yesterday by the Director of the Chennai Meteorological Research Center P. Chenthamarai Kannan said: There is a low pressure area in the central parts of the South Bay of Bengal. It may slowly move towards the Sri Lankan coast in the next 2 days. Due to this, light to moderate rain may occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today and tomorrow.
As far as Chennai is concerned, the sky will be partly cloudy today. Light rain may occur at a few places in the city.
Warning to Fishermen: Cyclonic winds of 35 to 55 kmph are likely to prevail over Kumari Kadal areas, Tamil Nadu coastal areas, Gulf of Mannar, Sri Lankan coastal areas and adjoining South West Bay of Bengal today and tomorrow. Gulf of Mannar, coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and adjoining Kumari Sea areas may experience cyclonic winds of 35 to 45 km per hour on 23rd. Therefore, fishermen should not visit these areas.
