In the recently held 8th 20 Over Cricket World Cup, England won the title by defeating Pakistan. West Indies and USA will jointly host the 9th 20 Over World Cup in 2024.
The previous two World Cups were held as a first round followed by a Super12 round, semi-final and final. But the 2024 World Cup will see a change in the game format.
A total of 20 teams are participating in this World Cup. They are divided into 4 divisions and compete in leagues. The top 2 teams in each division will advance to the Super 8 round. The 8 teams coming to the Super8 round will be divided into two groups and compete. From that 4 teams will be selected for the semi-finals.
12 teams have already qualified directly for this tournament. The remaining 8 teams will be eliminated through the qualifying round.
