After his appointment to the Council of Ministers on Friday March 31, 2023, Major General Abdou Sidikou Issa took command of the Nigerien Armed Forces as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMA). It was during an official ceremony chaired this Friday, April 7 by the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Alkassoum Indatou.
Major General Abdou Sidikou Issa held several command positions within the Nigerien Armed Forces and the Niger National Guard. A former resident of the Technical Military Preparatory School of Bingerville in Côte d’Ivoire, he holds a Diploma of Advanced Defense Studies, the Higher Course of Inter Force Staff in Rome (Italy), a Master’s 2 in International Security Studies from the University of Perugia, Italy, and a Master 2 in International Strategic Military Studies from the University of Milan and the University of Luis in Rome, also in Italy.
Major General Abdou Sidikou Issa, Commander in the National Order of Niger, replaces Lieutenant General Salifou Modi at the head of the Niger Armed Forces.
