Change of guard at McGill’s senior management

The Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University in Montreal, Suzanne Fortier, will step down at the end of August. She spent nearly ten years at the head of one of the most prestigious universities in Canada, including two in the midst of a pandemic.

Arriving in 2013, Suzanne Fortier holds a double degree from McGill University in crystallography (a science studying the structure of crystalline matter at the atomic scale).

Prior to her arrival at the head of the University, she was Professor and President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. His tenure at McGill will have enabled him to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the University.

β€œIt has been, and will continue to be, an extraordinary privilege to be able to serve my alma mater and its large community, said Mr.me Fortier in the text announcing his decision. I will remain a staunch McGill supporter forever. ”
