Title: Autumn Cold Arrives with Snow and Strong Winds

Subtitle: Weekend weather forecast and warnings issued by SMHI

September offered warmth and sun, but now colder days are expected. During the weekend, there will be both snow and strong winds, indicating that autumn has finally arrived. Hanna Winge, meteorologist at Klart, confirms the transition to autumn temperatures.

Even the last days of September offered beautiful weather and temperatures above normal in several parts of the country. However, the autumn cold has now set in with rain, snow, and wind making their appearance. Hanna Winge explains that a precipitation area will pass over the country on Friday, bringing rain to most areas, while the mountains will witness snowfall.

By Saturday morning, the last raindrops will dissipate, and the weekend looks to be sunny but also windy and relatively cool. Temperatures are expected to hover around 10 degrees Celsius in the south and around 5 degrees Celsius in the north, according to Winge.

Looking ahead, more unsettled weather is expected in the following week. Monday is predicted to be overcast with rain in Götaland and Svealand, while the western parts of Norrland will experience snowfall. The clouds are likely to persist until Tuesday. However, there is a chance of sunshine and warmer temperatures returning to Götaland by Wednesday. Hanna Winge states that warmer air will come in from the south, potentially bringing temperatures of 17-18 degrees Celsius. But the clash between the warm air and cold air in the north may result in heavy rainfall, although the situation remains uncertain.

Weather warnings have been issued by SMHI for the coastal areas. The entire Swedish coast can expect strong winds that might pose problems for leisure boats. Hanna Winge advises boat owners to keep a close eye on their vessels if they are still in port.

As autumn settles in, be prepared for colder temperatures, wintery conditions, and strong winds. Stay updated with the weather forecasts and warnings to ensure your safety and make the most of the changing season.
