After changes were made in recent years in the amount of tickets for the Euros and the World Cup, UEFA decides to make adjustments and change the way of qualifying for the factories. The organization announced today (Wednesday) a number of changes, the main of which is the transformation of the qualifying stage into a format of 12 houses with 4-5 teams, with the first qualifying automatically and the second going to the qualification playoffs or qualifying automatically as well, depending on the World Cup qualifiers (top 16) or Euro ( 24 go up).

The changes will start from the World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign, so that in the Euro 2024 qualifiers the old system will remain according to the draw that took place. Regarding the Nations League, there are several significant changes – unlike in the past, the team that finishes in first place will not go directly to the semi-finals of the qualification playoffs, but will meet the second at home for a home/away knockout on the spot. In addition, the teams that do not qualify or are not automatically relegated will play in promotion/relegation playoffs for the place in their rank.

The latest update concerns the European Super Cup. The UEFA organizing committee moved the match from Kazan due to the situation in Russia and it will be played in Athens, Greece. The match will end on August 16, 2023 (Wednesday).
