With only one month left for the month of Ramadan, the UAE has decided to bring changes in schools. Schools in the UAE usually only operate for five hours during Ramadan. School hours are limited to five hours, Monday to Thursday from 8am to 1pm and Fridays from 8am to 11.30am. It is also possible to select the schedule starting from 9 am and ending at 2 pm on days other than Friday.
Also, schools do not have swimming classes during Ramadan. Fasting students are not required to participate in physical activities during physical education classes. Music study will be mostly theory. Students who are fasting will hide the canteens from the view of the diners. Waiting centers will be set up for parents. Students breaking their fast will be given air-conditioned or sun-exposed positions. Decisions are made to provide a good school environment to the students by avoiding internal exams or other evaluations.
