Changes to PCR tests – All PCR test machines in Lower Austria will be dismantled

by time news

The much criticized edition of the PCR tests in Lower Austria will be changed. Instead of the machine next to the gas station, there will be corona tests in Euro and Interspar stores from mid-November.

Empty machines and tests that get stuck in them: There were always problems with the 23 PCR test machines at petrol stations in Lower Austria. The trouble should now be over. The country is changing the test strategy: The PCR test machines are expected to be dismantled from November 1st. Instead, a test offer will be launched in Euro and Interspar stores.

The PCR offer will begin in Spar supermarkets in the Melk and Scheibbs districts, as Provincial Vice-President Stephan Pernkopf (ÖVP) and State Health Councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig (SPÖ) announced yesterday, we reported:

PCR tests: more offers at pharmacies and at Spar in two districts

From October 27th, the PCR tests will be available at seven locations. Start is in the districts of Melk and Scheibbs. Then in all district capitals. From mid-November the offer should be available nationwide in Lower Austria.

The system should work in a similar way to “everything gurgles” in Vienna. During the opening hours in the Spar supermarkets you get a packet with ten pieces of the gargle tests. This will be free. There are also boxes where you can hand in the tests that have been carried out – probably around the clock.

“The automatic PCR testers were intended as an additional offer right from the start. In the course of the 3 rule at the workplace, we have now adapted this and are expanding the possibilities for PCR testing even more,” says Provincial Councilor Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig .
