What are the changes to Unemployment Insurance?
The project, which modifies Law 19,728, which establishes unemployment insurance, considers the following changes:
Reduction in access requirements
The number of registered contributions that allows access to benefits charged to the individual unemployment account (CIC):
From 12 to 10, in the case of workers with a permanent contract or a private home. From 6 to 5, in the case of workers with a fixed-term contract.
The number of registered contributions that allows access to benefits charged to the Solidarity Unemployment Fund (FCS)from 12 to 10, in the last 24 months prior to the end of the employment relationship.
Increase in unemployment benefits charged to the CIC
To this end, an increase in the replacement rate for the second month of benefits is promoted. It ranges from 55% to 60% of the respective average remuneration.
Increase in unemployment benefits charged to the FCS
The replacement rate for the second month of the Solidarity Unemployment Fund is increased and the lower and upper limits of benefits for workers with an indefinite contract or private home are updated.
