What are the changes to Unemployment Insurance?

The project, which modifies Law 19,728, which establishes unemployment insurance, considers the following changes:

Reduction in access requirements

The number of registered contributions that allows access to benefits charged to the individual unemployment account (CIC):

From 12 to 10, in the case of workers with a permanent contract or a private home. From 6 to 5, in the case of workers with a fixed-term contract.

The number of registered contributions that allows access to benefits charged to the Solidarity Unemployment Fund (FCS)from 12 to 10, in the last 24 months prior to the end of the employment relationship.

Increase in unemployment benefits charged to the CIC

To this end, an increase in the replacement rate for the second month of benefits is promoted. It ranges from 55% to 60% of the respective average remuneration.

Increase in unemployment benefits charged to the FCS

The replacement rate for the second month of the Solidarity Unemployment Fund is increased and the lower and upper limits of benefits for workers with an indefinite contract or private home are updated.

In the case of those who have a fixed-term contract, a fourth and fifth draft are added. In this way, your profit table is left with five monthly spins.

Requirements for special situations

The project to strengthen Unemployment Insurance also implies a relaxation of access requirements in the face of special situations.

The loss of employment is pointed out in an area affected by a disaster or facing a health alertin the event that it involves the stoppage of activities in all or part of the territory of a region.

In that case, the minimum number of registered contributions that allows access to benefits charged to the CIC would be reduced.
