The family festival held by the food brand is to get Guatemalan families in general to join the movement and generate change in favor of malnourished children in Guatemala. Since it began, the movement has served more than 5,200 children in the interior of the country, who have improved nutritionally or defeated chronic malnutrition.

In this third year, 2,700 boys and girls will be entering the program and for this reason, we want people to do their part by buying products and thus contribute to more donations of specialized foods and change lives from within the Guatemalan boys and girls.

“This festival is a place where people found games, food and a lot of fun, accompanied by the music and talent of national artists who donated their voices to brighten the morning. We are very excited to see the venue full, where many families came and participated in the games and supported this noble cause,” said Randy Herrera, Quaker brand manager for Latin America.

One in two Guatemalan children suffers from chronic malnutrition. Based on this context, a few years ago, Quaker took on the task of understanding how they could generate change and that became the Quaker Qrece program, and through a specialized formulation A food was created that contains nutrients that are delivered to the boys and girls who are in the program that lasts one year, where hygiene, health and nutrition workshops are also given, which in a holistic way impact the lives of families. and the communities where it is operating.

The singer and composer Francisco Paez closed the event with a flourish by singing a song dedicated to Alison, a four-year-old girl who is in the Quaker Qrece program, who entered with chronic problems, she was not growing, her size was smaller than the normal one and that in the end they graduated, emerging victorious from this disease.

Quaker Qrece carries out an innovative intervention model at the community level, derived from years of experience and research by Quaker. Through the non-profit organization CARE Guatemala, a specialized food made from Quaker oats, eggs, milk and peanuts, fortified with 17 essential vitamins and minerals, is provided for 12 months for children at this stage. Each serving contains 50 grams and 250 calories, a formula that makes it a valuable source of healthy fats (unsaturated), carbohydrates and proteins necessary for the growth, health and cognitive development of boys and girls.
