Passenger Flight from Chennai to Sri Lanka Cancelled Due to Bad Weather
Yesterday, 186 people were left stranded as the SriLankan Airlines passenger flight from Chennai to Colombo was canceled due to bad weather in Sri Lanka.

The flight, which usually departs from Sri Lanka at 8:40 AM, arrives at Chennai International Airport and then departs Sri Lanka from there. However, due to the unfavorable weather conditions in Sri Lanka, the passenger flight did not arrive as expected.

As a result, the SriLankan Airlines flight from Chennai to Sri Lanka was also canceled, leaving the 186 passengers shocked and frustrated. More than 40 of them were transit passengers who had plans to continue their journey to countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia via Sri Lanka.

The situation escalated as the passengers got into an argument with the airline staff. Management of SriLankan Airlines took action by transferring tickets to other airlines, including Air India, only for the transit passengers. This led to approximately 140 Sri Lankan bound passengers surrounding the staff and engaging in heated discussions.

In response to the escalating situation, airport and security officials rushed in to pacify the agitated passengers. Eventually, the Chennai airport authorities arranged to send the stranded passengers to Sri Lanka on flights operated by other airlines.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by both airlines and passengers when unexpected weather conditions lead to the cancellation of flights. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of effective communication and problem-solving in such situations to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers.
