Chaos in Paris: Major Train Sabotage Disrupts Travel Ahead of Olympic Opening Ceremony

by time news

An eventful day for the French, particularly for Parisians, as the major sabotage on the railway has caused significant inconvenience for hundreds of thousands of travelers, just hours before the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (the International Airport EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg) has temporarily grounded its aircraft for “security reasons.” The airport is located in France and is jointly operated by France and Switzerland. It should be noted that it is now operating normally again.

At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron is welcoming foreign leaders at the Élysée Palace, with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife, Mareva Grabowsky, also present.

Theoretically, the Olympic Flame continues its “tour” through the streets of the French capital, while everything is ready for a spectacular ceremony on the Seine.
