Charging from 0 to 100 in 5 minutes with a 300 watt charger

by time news

Oppo has announced that it is working on an upgrade of its SuperVOOC fast charging technology and now it crosses the maximum power threshold of 300 watts. The company claims a record charging time of only 5 minutes for a full charge, or two minutes for charging approximately 50% of the battery. All this is carried out under strict conditions of heat and electricity control and of course will only be allowed on compatible models.

This is not a very surprising step after the subsidiary Realme (Realme) has already presented its own solution for charging with a power of 240 watts. In fact, it is the first company to offer a first commercial device that also supports the technology and this is the Realme GT3 (also known as the GT Neo5). This is a total charging time from 0 to 100 in only 10 minutes or 50% charging in 4 minutes.

But Oppo is not alone in the matter when just recently Xiaomi demonstrated a fast charging technology with a power of 300 watts. According to her, the new charger is not bigger or heavier thanks to a modular design and a more effective heat dissipation system. The change is also reflected in the phones and in particular in the battery where improvements have been made in the chemical composition, a new structure of the cells for more effective cooling.

Currently, neither Xiaomi nor Opo have presented a device that supports this fast charging capability, but it is likely that new and first models will arrive this year.
