Thanjavur: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin is on his way to Tanjore after 11 people were killed in a chariot accident on a high voltage line in Thanjavur. He offers his condolences in person to the families of the victims there. He also visits those in treatment at the hospital and inquires about their health.

How did the accident happen? Thanjavur – Puthalur road 8 km. The Upper Monastery was established 150 years ago in the remote village of Kalimedu.

The Upper Satya Festival is celebrated in this monastery every year on the Satya Star Day of the month of Chittirai. Accordingly, the 94th three-day Upper Satya Festival began yesterday (Apr. 26) on Tuesday. The electric chariot started its journey at night during the festival which was held with much fanfare. The chariot was pulled with the upper picture.

The chariot continued to roam the four streets of Kalimedu village. They worshiped at home with coconut fruit. At around 3.15am on Wednesday, the chariot returned to Main Road from Lower Street when it overturned on a high-voltage electric track about 30 feet above.

This caused electricity to flow to the people who were dragging the toad and those around them. Among them is M. from Kalimedu village. Mohan (22), a former soldier. Pratap (36), a. Anpalagan (60), his son Raghavan (24), Nagaraj (60), R. Santosh (15), d. Wealth (56), m. Rajkumar (14), R. Saminathan (56), A. Govindaraj died on the spot.

Also seriously injured were M. Ravichandran (48), R. Kaliyamoorthy (40), K. Harish Ram (10), M. Nitish Ram (13), A. Madhavan (22), D. Mohan (54) and N. Vijay. (23), M. Arasu (19), G. Vicky (21), Thirunjanam (36), V. Harish (11), Madan’s wife Sukunda (33), P. Kausik (13), S. Parani (13) They were admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital. Of these, Parani succumbed to his injuries.

Informed District Collector Dinesh Bonraj visited Oliver Medical College Hospital and expressed his condolences to the affected people. He also advised the doctors to give proper treatment to the injured. Following this he went to Kalimedu village and visited the spot.

Similarly, Central Zone Police IG Balakrishnan, Thanjavur Goods Police Deputy Chief A. Kayalvizhi and District Superintendent of Police Ravalipriya are conducting investigations. Kallaperambur police have registered a case and are investigating.

According to locals, the incident took place 15 minutes before the chariot reached the spot. They said the damage was exacerbated when electricity flowed as water was being poured on the way to the chariot.

One more worry: Eleven people were killed in a chariot accident in Tanjore and the condition of one more person is critical. 14 people are being treated with injuries. The dean of Tanjore Medical College said that their health is stable.
Chief Minister’s condolences: In this situation, Chief Minister Stalin is going to Trichy by air from Chennai at 11 am today. From there he goes to Tanjore by road with the Minister of Education Anbil Mahesh. He visits the patients in the hospital and inquires about their health. He also meets the families of the victims and offers his condolences.

Chief Minister Stalin has ordered immediate relief of Rs 5 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s General Relief Fund to the families of the victims of the accident.
