A political survey released strong candidates for the 2024-2029 candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of North Sumatra, including North Sumatra’s candidate for governor and deputy governor, Bobby Nasution, who is President Joko Widodo’s son-in-law.

In an online political survey for the period 5-25 March 2024, the name of the mayor of Medan, who is also Kahiyang Ayu’s husband, emerged as the gubernatorial candidate with the highest electability level, namely 50.6 percent, followed in second place by the former governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, 30.7 percent.

Meanwhile, for the electability of the candidate for deputy governor, Charles Bonar Sirait is ahead with 47.6 percent, followed by DPR RI member from the PDIP faction Sihar Sitorus with 28.4 percent and in third place, Simalungun Regent JR Saragih with 15 percent.
The three priority things needed by the community through this online survey are better infrastructure at 33.4 percent, followed by increasing employment opportunities at 20 percent and third place is protecting the environment and natural resources at 14.2 percent.
