Called “Ceci n’est pas une tong”, the 2024 edition of the Chausse Tes Tongs festival, in Trévou-Tréguignec, ended on Sunday very early in the morning. For the festival team, it is a special edition: two concert evenings instead of three, but to build things slowly before the big 20th anniversary party next year, but also a new location, “more bucolic, more at come to our idea of ​​the festival, explains Élodie Papin. People told us that they really liked it!

In fact, the festival-goers, wearing flip-flop earrings, don’t look sad despite the mud of the second evening.

Bet won

On the program, two evenings, and two very different atmospheres: post-punk for Friday evening, “goldsmiths” for the second one. “Both evenings were very different and we chose not to headline,” recalls Raphaël Frouin. As a result, there were people there and sometimes we saw the same people having fun with a wild rock, then vibrated to Hakim the next day! “.

In short, the public “trusts them, and is very happy”. A winning bet for both organizers. “In terms of the quality of the concerts, it exceeded our expectations. Even we got a slap,” they cried together.

The atmosphere is there

Although three quarters of the site was already closed, on Sunday afternoon, the two members of the organizing team had a good weekend to see, as the scheduled artists did: “They will see each other almost at every edition! We also see them going through the crowd to enjoy other concerts, or talking to the volunteers, who are very attentive.

Meanwhile, Ana, the first group scheduled for Saturday evening, made everyone agree, among the public and in the organization, that they had a “hard time” on their latest album.

Small festivals like ours allow this kind of interaction,” both organizers appreciate, without being proud of their effect. “The artists were even surprised by a good reception from the public, people who were extremely attentive and responsive.”

In the end, the financial results are even good: “There may even be a risk of making a profit… Half as big as usual! », Raphaël calculates, “he makes it a point of honor to maintain balance”.

An appointment has already been made for the 2025 anniversary edition, on 25 and 26 July. For the event, the team is preparing something to commemorate the occasion, and why not “other local associations get together”, said Raphaël. Until then, Chausse tes tongs is still looking for volunteers!
