Cloudy with a chance of oranges. A passing tornado generously sprinkled the seaside town with a tropical crop from Latin America, and with it threw an unknown beast to science. Right on the threshold of the recluse Gena (Sergei Garmash – the chief head of Russian cinema; he was in both “Movement Up” and in the “Anna Nikolaevna Project”). Gena does not work as a crocodile, but as a gardener in an arboretum. He also lives there – from a spyglass looking after the family of Tanya’s daughter (Polina Maksimova – the star of the series “Offline” and “257 Reasons to Live”), who does not want to see her father.
Proud in his loneliness, Gena is not happy with the eared guest and tries to take him to the zoo. But who is he kidding? Even Gens need a friend. Moreover, it is always nice to be friends against a common enemy. The spectacular business lady Rimma (Elena Yakovleva – the main mother of Russian cinema; she was in both the “Crew” and “The Best Day”) wants to buy a “eared” for her granddaughter and get Tanya’s chocolate shop. Friends answer the bestial grin of capitalism with a smile. And hidden resistance.
