Chechen Culture Minister Musa Dadayev announced at a meeting on Friday the decision to limit the tempo of all musical, vocal and choreographic works from 80 to 116 beats per minute (BPM), Russian state news agency TASS reported.

“I announced the final decision, agreed with the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov, that from now on all musical, vocal and choreographic works must correspond to a tempo between 80 and 116 beats per minute,” said M. Dadayev.

According to R. Kadyrov’s instructions, the region now ensures that Chechen music and dance works correspond to the “Chechen mentality and musical rhythm”, aiming for “the future of people and our children to receive the cultural heritage of the Chechen nation”, M. Dadayev added.
