According to the latest information revealed by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp also wants to equip its application with a new mode dedicated to video while testing a new function that allows multiple devices to be connected to the same account.

Until now, clicking the camera icon within a conversation was the only way to record a video on WhatsApp. A new interface displays, giving you the option to take a snapshot with a tap or record a video by keeping your finger on the shutter. This may not always be practical, so eventually WhatsApp will add a video mode similar to what’s available in the built-in camera app on your smartphone.
You don’t need to hold your finger on the button to take a video anymore because of this new video mode. You only need to press the shutter button once to start the video and again to end it.
So you will be able to mount the camera on a tripod and leave the phone while shooting. Another benefit of this mode is that switching between the front and rear cameras while recording video is possible using the currently available single mixed mode.
This new WhatsApp functionality is now undergoing testing, as are all the other new features. So don’t expect to see it anytime soon. The latest version of WhatsApp has been made available to a small group of beta testers, but since not many significant changes have been made to the user interface, it is expected that everyone will soon be able to access this new feature over the coming weeks.
