The club delegates reversed the first determination initially established in the bases of the national championship, which had increased the foreign quotas, allowing the registration of six, who could be on the field at the same time.

However, the ANFP Council of Presidents reversed this decision, allowing only five of them to step on the field at a time.

In this way, the proposal of the president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, He managed to convince the First Division teams, after their leaders rejected the initiative in the first instance.

Specifically, the clubs that changed their position with respect to the first vote and were in favor of the proposal this Wednesday are University of Chile, Everton, Ñublense and Huachipato.

On the other hand, the only institutions that did not change their position regarding the six foreigners on the field were Audax Italian and Union La Calera. In this context, the final vote ended with 14-2 in favor of the ANFP proposal.

Given this situation, Sifup, through a statement on its social networks, stated: “We value that sanity prevails and decisions are made that do not threaten our activity, Therefore, as a board of directors, mandating you through our Assembly, we lift the strike.”

Continuing along these lines, they pointed out that “We are convinced that increasing the number of foreign players on the field negatively affects the training of players. “We accept that this season the clubs exceptionally enable six foreign players with the aim of protecting our teammates who have a contract.”

“From now on we will work to ensure that this number decreases,” they added.
