“We are happy with the great enthusiasm and activity that this competition has generated. The 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way is an important occasion celebrating the unity of the Baltic States. By naming our aircraft after the cities of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, we honor this event and strengthen the connection between nations.
We are honored that our aircraft fleet will spread the names of these cities around the world, demonstrating our unity and pride,” says Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic.
As already mentioned, during the competition, 48 cities were selected – 16 from each Baltic country – to honorably decorate airBaltic’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft with their names.
The following 16 cities will represent Lithuania on airBaltic aircraft:
Alytus, Anykščiai, Biržai, Druskininkai, Joniškėlis, Kėdainiai, Klaipėda, Molėtai, Rokiškis, Šilalė, Šilutė, Tauragė, Ukmergė, Vilnius, Visaginas, Zarasai.
