Cheers to a Comeback: ‘Grand Blue’ Season 2 Announced After 6-Year Hiatus!

Based on the original work by Kenji Inoue and the manga by Kenta Shioyama『Grand Blue』, the production of the TV anime Season 2 (second season) has been announced. It marks a sequel about six years since the broadcast of Season 1 in 2018. It was revealed that the animation production will be undertaken by Zero-G, who produced Season 1, in collaboration with Lieber.

Accompanying the announcement, a teaser visual depicting the members of the diving circle “Peek a Boo” (PaB) toasting has been released. Celebratory comments from the voice actors include Yuma Uchida, who plays the protagonist Iori Kitahara, as well as Ryohei Kimura, Hiroki Yasumoto, Katsuyuki Konishi, Chika Anzai, Maaya Uchida, Toa Yukinari, and Kana Asumi.

As a campaign to commemorate the announcement of Season 2, a limited-time free campaign for almost all chapters of the manga ` Grand Blue ` (excluding the latest chapter) will be held from September 30, 2024, for 96 hours on “Magazine Pocket,” “Comic DAYS,” and “K MANGA.” In addition, a free distribution of Season 1 (all 12 episodes) will be available until October 11, and information regarding the release of the original soundtrack and various other announcements have been made.

Our summer doesn’t end!

Iori Kitahara has started university life in Izu for three months now—
Staying at the diving shop “Grand Blue” with his cute cousin Chisa Kotegawa under one roof. Joining them are his cousin Nanaka Kotegawa, the alluring Azusa Hamaka, and his classmate Aina Yoshihara, and life seems to be a smooth sailing youth campus experience!
… But on the flip side, the majority of college life is a wild time with nude guys!
That’s because the diving circle “Peek a Boo” is mostly about strong men drinking together in the nude, and Iori, alongside the handsome but true otaku Kohei Imamura, has fully adapted to the circle’s lifestyle.
Amid this, Iori receives a letter from his sister, Shiori, upon returning from diving license training in Okinawa…
A visit from his sister, a school festival at Aomei Women’s University, a test of courage, dates, and camping on a deserted island!
