The chef and owner of the ‘Hashobach’ cafe Shahar Levy described his displeasure following his financial and personal distress from the outbreak of the war: “I asked for a bit of patience and a bit of understanding sometimes”

In a chilling post, chef Shahar Levy, the winner of second place in ‘Master Chef’ and the owner of the ‘Hashubach’ cafe who serves in Gaza as a captain in the reserves, described his financial hardship following his enlistment in the reserves. Later he even described an incident that happened to him in front of a client: “I don’t understand what world she lives in and why I’m there. And that I actually want to go back home, to Gaza, there.”

Levy spoke with Yanon Magal and Yossi Yehoshua at the end of the program and commented on things. “I asked for a little patience and a little understanding sometimes,” he described. “You go back there and realize that it only happened with us and everyone continues. In the studios they continue to say what they want, it’s hard.”

Regarding the help he received from the state following the situation, Levy said: “I received very little assistance.”
