The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) revealed the most expensive lists of the world’s teams during the current season.
The center confirmed, in its latest study, that Chelsea broke all records this season by owning the most expensive team ever assembled in football history, at a cost of 1.28 billion euros including add-ons.
The study collects the money paid as transfer fees to bring in members of existing teams, either permanently or on loan.
Premier League clubs occupy seven of the top ten spots, with Manchester United and Manchester City in second and third place with costs of €1.038 billion and €1.017 billion respectively.
Arsenal are fourth with €798m, followed by Tottenham Hotspur with €787m, and Paris Saint-Germain in sixth with €772m.
Liverpool comes in seventh place with 735 million euros, then Real Madrid with 720 million euros, followed by Newcastle United, which cost 683 million euros, then Juventus with 626 million euros.
There is only one Arab team in the list of the 20 most expensive teams, which is Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, which comes in 13th place with a cost of 485 million euros.
