Chennai budget announcement: Medical camps scheduled for schools in Tamil Nadu

Mayor Priya presented the Chennai Corporation Budget for the year 2023-24 in Chennai. The highlights of the budget include the upgrade of the laboratory in 10 higher secondary schools in the city at a cost of Rs.10 crore. Also, Rs.25 crore will be used to improve and rehabilitate school infrastructure. The Singharach Chennai 2.0 project will construct 452 bus route roads and 78 km of internal roads at a cost of Rs. 55.61 crores. Additionally, the “Mayor in Search of People Project” will be implemented once a month in the 15 mandals of the Chennai Corporation. Steps will be taken to organize educational tours to factories for 11th-grade students, and medical camps will be conducted in schools once every three months. Furthermore, the incentive for educational tourism will be increased from Rs.1500 to Rs.3000 for teachers who achieve 100% pass rate in both 10th and 12th grades.
