Tamil Nadu DGP Silendra Babu has ordered to shift the investigation of the Chennai IIT student sexual harassment case to the CPCID.
A list student from West Bengal was last reported to have been sexually harassed by her classmates in 2017. Among them, eight people, including former research students Kingsuk Deb Sharma and Subhadeep Banerjee, were prosecuted under four sections last year. The investigation is being led by the Kotturpuram Assistant Commissioner. In this situation, Tamil Nadu DGP Silenthra Babu has ordered to transfer the case to the CPCID.
