In this 15th season, the champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have suffered a series of setbacks. Mumbai Indians have lost 8 consecutive matches and missed out on the play-offs. CSK has recorded only 2 wins in 8 matches. The play will only have a chance if they win the next 6 matches.
Both these teams are the leading teams in the IPL. The fans are too much. In this case, the fans do not see much of a match as both teams have gone to the point of missing out on a playoff berth in the 15th season. This has caused a huge loss to the IPL management. The management, which wants to rectify this, arranged a meeting of the BCCI executives last night.
Executive Meeting:
At that meeting last night, the matter was seriously discussed. Speaking at the time, an administrator said, “We used to have eight teams in total, so we gave half of the four teams a chance to play off. Currently up to 10 teams have arrived. Thus half of the 5 teams should be given a chance to play. In other words, it would be better to hold a knockout match in addition to the 4th and 5th place teams and keep the winning team as usual in the play-off round. ”
He further added, “If we do that, there will be tension. The number of IPL spectators will be high again as the exit champion teams will also have a chance to get a play-off berth. Otherwise, the IPL will definitely be in big trouble. ”
It has been reported that many executives have expressed support for this. It has been reported that IPL chief Brijesh Patel, BCCI president Saurav Ganguly and secretary Jai Shah will make the final decision soon.
