Chennai Super Kings are likely to retain captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the next three seasons of the IPL. Apart from Tony, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opener Rudraj Kejriwal are also likely to be retained.

According to the rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the owner of each IPL team is allowed to retain a maximum of four players.

The Chennai team is said to be in talks with England all-rounder Moin Ali. Chennai believe that Moin Ali could play a key role as the next season of the IPL will be played in India, as confirmed by BCCI secretary Jai Shah.

If Moin does not make the board, England left – arm fast bowler Sam Curran will be the fourth and last retainer.

As the mega auction of the IPL series is scheduled to take place next month, the IPL management has asked the teams to submit the names of the players they have retained by November 30.

Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pund is all set to retain all-rounder Akshar Patel, Prithviraj Shah and fast bowler Anrich Nordje.

As for the Mumbai Indians, they are looking to retain Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bhumira. While talks on Kieran Pollard are still ongoing, Mumbai are looking to bid for Suryakumar Yadav.

Kolkata Knight Riders are likely to retain Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. As for the other two places, there is still talk going on.
