Cheongdo-gun conducted the 2024 Harmful Wildlife Damage Prevention Team Firearms and Safety Management Training. On the 25th, Cheongdo-gun (Governor Kim Ha-su) conducted the ‘2024 Harmful Wildlife Damage Prevention Team Firearms and Safety Management Training’ for 30 damage prevention team members and 3 self-rescue team members in the county office conference room (3rd floor).
The Cheongdo-gun Harmful Wild Animal Damage Prevention Team, consisting of 30 members, will operate from April 2024 to March 2025 to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF) and damage to crops caused by harmful wild animals such as wild boars and roe deer.
This training is aimed at preventing safety accidents for hunters who handle firearms and residents, such as repeated human casualties (deaths, injuries) due to gun misidentification accidents during wild animal capture activities that have occurred recently in Gyeongbuk.
The training was conducted in cooperation with the Crime Prevention and Response Team of the Cheongdo Police Station, and included training on firearm safety management rules, firearm entry and exit guidelines for harmful bird extermination, accident cases, and personal quarantine rules to prevent the spread of African swine fever (ASF) along with safety accident prevention during capture activities.
Meanwhile, due to the shooting incident that occurred in Gyeongbuk, Cheongdo Police Station has banned the release of firearms by the Wildlife Damage Prevention Team since July 19, and release is possible after completing safety training.
Kim Ha-su, the governor of Cheongdo County, said, “Through this firearms and safety management training, I ask that the members of the wild animal damage prevention unit raise awareness of firearms accidents and actively cooperate in preventing damage to crops by wild animals, and do their best to protect the safety and property of the county residents.”
