Cheongdo-gun signed a business agreement for a regional consultative body for special educational development zones. Cheongdo-gun (Governor Kim Ha-su) formed a local consultative body for designating and operating a pilot zone for special educational development zones at the Cheongdo-gun Office on the 25th and signed a business agreement.
The regional consultative body includes the Cheongdo-gun governor and Gyeongsangbuk-do Cheongdo Office of Education as co-chairs, and the Cheongdo-gun Council (Chairman Kim Hyo-tae), Daegu Haany University (President Byun Chang-hoon), and Cheongdo Our Spiritual Culture Foundation (CEO Ki Hwa-seo) participate.
The Special Educational Development Zone is a system that comprehensively supports local educational innovation, local talent training, and settlement within the larger framework of regional development through cooperation between local entities such as Cheongdo-gun, the Office of Education, county councils, universities, and public institutions.
If designated as a special zone, various regulations can be eased through the establishment of special cases, and government financial support of up to 10 billion won can be received.
The organizations that participated in the agreement ceremony on this day strengthened their resolve to select the special education development zone contest and discussed ways to derive a ‘Cheongdo-type’ education policy that fits the conditions of the Cheongdo-gun region.
First, the vision was set as ‘a city where locally educated talent stays in the region’, and a promotion strategy and specific implementation plan were prepared with the goal of creating a local education innovation ecosystem in connection with the Cheongdo-gun integrated development strategy.
Cheongdo County Governor Kim Ha-su said, “In order to create a good environment for raising children, strengthen local public education, and establish a virtuous cycle system where local talent can work and settle in the region, it is necessary to designate a special educational development zone.” He added, “‘Cheongdo Lifelong Learning Happy City’.” “We will do our best to keep pace with the progress and be selected as a pilot district for special education development zones,” he said.
Lee Si-gyun, superintendent of the Cheongdo Office of Education, said, “We will actively cooperate to foster Cheongdo’s unique, good schools and increase its educational competitiveness so that it can be reborn as a city of premium education that can be visited from all over the country.”
