There are no domestic base stations in Russia, but mobile operators have enough stocks for several years, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said, TASS reports.

“To be honest, there are no domestic base stations in Russia yet, although one must also understand that there is no problem here, because mobile operators are provided with stocks in warehouses for several years,” he said.

As Vedomosti wrote at the end of December, in accordance with the plans of the government, 4G networks on Russian equipment will appear only in 2025 – then 6 million people will connect to them, in 2026 – 10 million people, and in 2030 – 100 million people. In 2024, 300,000 people will receive communication services using 5G on Russian equipment, in 2025 – 700,000 people, in 2026 – 1.5 million people, in 2027 – 5 million people, in 2030 .- 50 million people, according to the roadmap.

Now several companies are engaged in the creation of base stations in Russia. In particular, the development of 4G and 5G base stations is carried out by Spektr of Rostec, 4G and 5G stations based on Open RAN by Skoltech. Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that all four federal telecom operators signed forward contracts for the purchase of Russian-made telecom equipment. We are talking about the supply of 70,000 domestic cellular base stations, said one of the sources of Vedomosti.
