He was born on 23rd July 1990 in Jind district of Haryana. His parents are KK Sakal and Sunita Devi. KK Sakal is a lawyer in Jind district. Apart from that, KK Sakal has played cricket at university level.
Chess and cricket
He was very interested in chess and cricket from a young age. Sakal holds the record of being the only player to play both chess and cricket for India at the international level.

Cooch Behar Trophy
Sakal, a leg-spinner, grabbed 34 wickets in the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2009 and grabbed everyone’s attention.
IPL
He made his debut in the IPL season for the first time in 2011. He also got a place in the Mumbai Indians team. If Harbhajan Singh, who was in the Mumbai Indians team at that time, bowled well, Chahal did not get a chance.
