After India’s R Pragnananda defeated world number 1 chess player Magnus Carlsen, Indian YouTubers Abi and Niu tweeted, “Chess is the new cricket. Prove me wrong!” Responding to the tweet, Carlson said,
He listed reasons why “chess is not cricket” and added “cricket is played on a field… chess is played on a board… cricket has bat and ball, chess… no… I can’t play cricket.”
