Chennai – ” Chess Olympiad – 2022 matches will be held in Mamallapuram from July 27 to August 10, ” said Tamil Nadu Sports Development Minister Meyyanathan.

President of the International Chess Federation Diorkovit Arkady, President of the All India Chess Federation Sanjay Kapoor and Secretary Bharat Singh Chauhan met Tamil Nadu Sports Development Minister Meyyanathan at the General Secretariat yesterday in connection with the forthcoming International Chess Tournament to be held in Mamallapuram, Chengalpattu District.

The competitions will be held from July 27 to August 10. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held with the performances of world-renowned musicians to showcase the art culture of Tamil Nadu. A team from each country will participate. On behalf of India, both teams will participate. A special committee has been set up to conduct the tournament. In Tamil Nadu, two chess players each have been selected from schools in each district and steps have been taken to watch the Chess Olympiad live, he said.
