Chess Olympiad: Grand Masters Viswanathan Anand, Kelfrand start training

Chennai: The first phase of training for Indian players participating in the Chess Olympiad has started in Chennai. The training has started under the leadership of Grand Masters Viswanathan Anand and Kelfrand. The training for the players participating in the Chess Olympiad is to be held in Chennai till the 17th. The 44th Chess Olympiad Series will be held in Mamallapuram next to Chennai in July and August.

The All India Chess Federation has announced the list of players who will represent India in the series. The training camp for the A Division team players representing India in the Olympiad series started today in Chennai. India’s famous chess grandmaster Viswanath Anand and Israeli grandmaster Kelfand will train the players. Srinath Narayanan and Abhijit Kunde, who have been appointed as the coaches of the Indian A Division, are also scheduled to attend the training camp.

So far more than 170 countries from various countries have registered to participate in the Chess Olympiad. Many more countries are expected to register to take part in the tournament. The All India Chess Federation and the World Chess Olympiad Federation are carrying out this work. The Indian team is participating in this tournament in four groups. The task of coaching the team representing India soon began.
