Mumbai: BCCI has dissolved the selection committee to select the Indian cricket team.

The Indian cricket team was eliminated in the semi-finals of the recently concluded T20 World Cup series against the England team. This has led to criticism of the Indian team. Meanwhile, the BCCI has dissolved the selection committee to select the Indian team.

The selection panel, headed by former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma, included Sunil Joshi (South Zone), Harvinder Singh (Central Zone) and Debashish Mohanty (East Zone). BCCI has disbanded this group along with the cage. BCCI also announced that fresh applications will be accepted for the selection committee and the deadline for submission of applications is November 28 at 6 pm.

BCCI secretary Jai Shah had mentioned that the new selection committee would be formed during the general body meeting in Mumbai last month. Accordingly, the Selection Committee has now been dissolved.

However, the selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma will finally pick the squad for the upcoming Bangladesh tour. After that the selection committee will be completely dissolved and a new committee will be formed. The new selection committee will take over in December. Those who want to be included in the new selection panel have been stipulated to have played at least seven Test matches, 30 first-class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 first-class matches.
