Chevrolet Groove may arrive in Brazil to rival Pulse – News

by time news

After launching the Montana to rival the Fiat Toro, Chevrolet already plans to sell a compact SUV to compete directly with the Pulse. The model, which can be produced in Gravataí, in Rio Grande do Sul, must be the Groove or inspired by the crossover sold in Mexico.

If it really is sold here, the Chevrolet Groove will be positioned below the Tracker and Equinox, both already sold here. In fact, the Tracker leads sales in the compact SUV segment in Brazil. In addition to the Fiat Pulse, it will be a direct rival of the Volkswagen Nivus. It can also fight with the Chevrolet Tracker itself, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen T-Cross and Nissan Kicks.

In Mexico, the Chevrolet Groove comes equipped with a 1.5 liter aspirated engine of up to 110 hp with torque of 14.9 kgfm of torque. The transmission is of the CVT type. But if it is sold here, it can have the same set as Montana and Tracker, which are equipped with a 1.2 turbo flex engine, which generates up to 133 hp and 21.4 kgfm. The transmission can be a six-position automatic.

However, there is still no official information from Chevrolet, only from the Autos Segredos website, which heard sources connected to the brand. There is also no official date for the launch of the compact crossover.
