A new sub-committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal has been formed. The committee led by Acting President Russell Iqbal Khan and General Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel has been abolished and a seven-member committee has been announced. Rakibul Islam Rakib has been nominated as the president and Nasir Uddin as the general secretary in the new committee.
This information was informed in the circular signed by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Friday (March 1).
Others on the sub-committee are—Abu Afsan Mohammad Yahya, Senior Vice-President; Shyamal Malum, Senior Joint General Secretary; Amanullah Aman, Organizing Secretary; Md. Jahangir Alam, Office Secretary and Sharif Pradhan Shubo, Publicity Secretary.
It should be noted that earlier in 2022, a partial committee was formed by appointing Ronakul Islam Shraban as the president and Saif Mahmud Jewel as the general secretary. On August 8 of the same year, a full committee with 302 members was constituted. On August 8, 2023, Rashed Iqbal Khan, senior vice-president of the organization, was nominated acting president in his stead due to the illness of president Shravan. After almost two years, the Central Committee of Chhatra Dal was announced today.
