On September 27, 2022, members of the newly formed committee (Sohail-Arif Committee) of the Dhaka University branch of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal were on their way to meet the Vice-Chancellor and Proctor when the leaders and activists of Chhatra League attacked them in front of Sir AF Rahman Hall with the intention of killing them with domestic weapons. Many leaders and activists including the president and general secretary of the Dhaka University branch of Chhatra Dal were seriously injured.
A case has been filed against 66 people, including the then central president and general secretary of the Chhatra League, the president and general secretary of the Dhaka University branch and the president and general secretary of Sir AF Rahman Hall, who were directly involved in the attack.
On Thursday (September 26), the then General Secretary of Dhaka University Branch Chhatra Dal. Ariful Islam has filed this case as the plaintiff. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered the Shahbag police station to take the complaint as a statement.
Chhatra Dal says that it is essential to ensure the due punishment of terrorists and miscreants in order to build a society and state with the right to freedom of expression and freedom of expression. The reign of terror, injustice and fear that was established in the country for 16 years, this case is sure to be judged properly. So that in the future no miscreant dares to commit injustice, crime or obstruct the freedom of expression in the educational institution.
