BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented on the incident of law enforcement and Chhatra League attack on students as despicable and cowardly. He said that the government has failed in the movement of students for the fair demand of quota reform. That is why state power is being used mercilessly to suppress the movement.

In a statement sent to the media on Monday (July 15) night, Mirza Fakhrul Islam condemned and protested the attack of Chhatra League and law enforcement forces on the peaceful program of students.

In the statement, Mirza Fakhrul said that police and Chhatra League terrorists have jointly attacked various universities and educational institutions including Dhaka University and injured many students. This violent attack is due to the fear of losing power. The sight of the countrymen witnessing the bloody suppression of the legitimate demands of the students just to stay in power will go down in history as another brutal chapter of fascism. This is the traditional feature of Awami fascism. People, state, society, freedom-sovereignty are never safe in their hands.

The Secretary General of BNP also commented that the Awami League government is continuously deceiving the general students regarding the quota in the statement. He said, it is the tradition of Awami League to deceive the people. The prime minister of the illegitimate government, after canceling the quota in 2018, reinstated the quota in a different manner this year.

The General Secretary of BNP said, those who instigate BLA goons along with the law and order forces to brutally attack the students, are anti-human and inhumane. Those who resort to corruption and violence, they are also alarmed by the logical movement of college-university students. Because, it is never possible to ensure the rights of any part of the people of various classes and occupations by the government driven by the ideology of looting. So they resort to extreme violence to silence the voice of the collective voice.

In the statement, Mirza Fakhrul said that the terrorists involved in such diabolical activities must be punished.
