Sports competitions
Thiruvallur District Collector Dr Alby John Varghese in a press release said:-
Athletics, Swimming, Weightlifting, Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Kabaddi, Handball, Football and Tennis are scheduled to be held on 21st, 23rd and 25th at the Sports Ground located in Thiruvallur District Collector Office Perunditta Complex.
Athletics, Kabaddi and Football matches will be held on 21st. On 22nd, there will be curveball, handball and basketball. On the 23rd, weightlifting will be held at Chennai Nehru Sports Stadium, tennis, swimming and tennis at Chennai Mukapper Tennis Stadium.
Certificates must be submitted
Both male and female participants should be under 25 years of age. Should be born on or after 1-1-1997. Certificates for this should be submitted. Only those who are selected by the members appointed by the Head Office in the district level basketball, curling ball, kabaddi, handball, football and badminton team sports competitions for both sexes will be allowed to participate in the state level competition.
Candidates who are selected in the group competition should send the certificate of residence in Tamil Nadu for at least 5 years, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Copy of School Transfer Certificate to the District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer.
Prize money
A person is allowed to participate in only one competition in the district level competition. Prize money of Rs.1000, Rs.750 and Rs.500 each will be awarded to the winning team players and women players.
Only those who apply through website will be allowed to participate in the competition. The last day for that is the coming 19th. For more information contact 7401703482.
