Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the upgraded PD block of Lady Acheson Hospital and inspected the consultant OPD, antenatal clinic, nursing office and triage room. John Khan, Principal King Edward Medical College Dr. Mehmood Ayaz, Dr. Asad Aslam and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inquired about the well-being of the mother and child in the ward, and prayed for a speedy recovery. On this occasion, a patient informed about her problems, so the Chief Minister comforted her and ordered to solve the problem immediately, Maryam Nawaz also took photographs at the request of the doctors and nurses. Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the different floors of the Ophthalmology block and reviewed the construction work and also inspected the OPD, operation theater, CSSD sterilization room and reviewed the available facilities. C&W Sohail Ashraf gave a briefing on the upgradation project, in the briefing it was told that the 8-floor eye ward of Mayo Hospital was upgraded, the number of operation theaters was increased from 5 to 14, recovery rooms for patients. And a waiting area has also been established, the long-standing leakage in the eye ward has been completely eliminated and the building has been made safe, new generators and lifts have also been installed for the patients in the eye ward. Semi-modular operation theaters have been set up at Lady Aitchison, e-epoxy flooring and anti-bacterial painting have been done at Lady Aitchison, modern medical and other essential equipments have been provided in OPD and Eye Ward, Eye Block and OPD Block Upgraded on low cost first priority basis.
