(24News) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered to promote public-private partnership in Toyota projects.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in which the recommendations for finalizing the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) mapping plan were reviewed.

In the meeting, it was decided to teach modern courses according to the market demand in TUTTA institutes, it was also approved to introduce Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese and Arabic language courses in TUTTA institutes.

It was also agreed on the proposal of establishment of Punjab Overseas Employment Promoting Authority for skilled job in the international market.

During the meeting, it was decided to outsource heavy machinery driving/operator course in collaboration with large scale construction developers.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also approved the construction of 45 welding workshops in 9 cities and the establishment of state-of-the-art welding and construction course labs in Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, Attock, Taxila, Leh and Mianwali.

In the meeting, the proposal to recruit 1,000 employees to overcome the lack of human resources in Toyota was agreed upon. The proposal to increase the budget for the purchase of training material for practical training was also considered. The monthly budget for training material is Rs. 2,000. It is suggested to do per student.

During the meeting, measures were directed to ensure biometric attendance of teachers.

Toyota’s new courses will also provide professional training in building, textile, garments, tourism, hospitality, information communication and technology, automobile assembling and repairing, food processing, biomedical technology, light engineering, renewable energy, surgical instruments.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that innovation in technical training courses is the need of the hour to reduce unemployment and economic growth.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif further said that establishing partnership with leading industries to support internships, apprenticeships and employment, will be successful in creating a strong technical education model system in Punjab.

Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Chairperson Chief Minister Task Force for Skills Development Adnan Afzal Chatta, Secretary Industry Ehsan Bhatta, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Sajid Zafar Dal and other officials participated in the meeting.
