Chennai: Chief Minister M.K.Stalin visited the house of football player Priya who died after her leg was amputated and gave a relief of Rs 10 lakh to her parents. Also, they were given orders for residence and employment for brothers.

Priya (17), daughter of Ravikumar-Usharani couple from Vyasarpadi, Chennai, B.Sc from Queen Mary College, Chennai. He was studying first year of physical education degree course. A football player, she developed pain in her right leg during training. For this, joint membrane surgery was carried out on the 7th at Kolathur Periyar Nagar Government Hospital. However, Priya, who was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital due to leg pain and swelling, was examined and it was revealed that the blood circulation in her leg was affected. Subsequently, his right leg was amputated.

The health department formed a committee to conduct an inquiry after the parents complained of improper treatment at the Periyar Nagar hospital. Meanwhile, Priya passed away on the 15th. Subsequently, Health Minister M. Subramanian said that doctors K. Somasundhar and A. Balram will be suspended for their negligence. Priya’s father Ravikumar said, “During the surgery, Priya’s leg was torn to a large extent. As the blood flowed out, the joint was bandaged. There are not enough medicines. Meanwhile, Priya’s body was handed over to her parents and cremated. The police registered a case on the complaint lodged by the student’s father. On learning this, both the doctors went into hiding. Meanwhile, State Human Rights Commission chairman Bhaskaran has issued a notice to the health department to respond within 6 weeks regarding the incident. In this case, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin went to Priya’s house in Vyasarpadi yesterday. The Chief Minister consoled his parents and family and presented a check of Rs 10 lakh as relief.

The Chief Minister also gave the student’s brother an order for the job of data entry operator in the National Welfare Corporation and a residence order for them to live in the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board’s Gautamapuram project area.
