TRENTO. Sexual harassment of a 7 year old girlThe accusations that have been levelled against him are very serious. an 83-year-old pastor belonging to the evangelical church who was arrested by the agents of the Flying Squad of the Trento Police Headquarters for abuse of a minor. The girl and her family, foreigners, were guests of the mission in Trentino, in particular in the shepherd’s housewho in December 2022, when the family arrived, had specific management roles. The investigation began after a Caritas volunteer reported the matter to social services.
According to the investigators’ reconstruction, the first episodes would have occurred in the summer of 2023. The little girl spent many hours of the day without her parents at home, therefore alone with the religious man, and it is in those moments that the man allegedly molested the little girl, who told her parents everything. At that point, the father also involved other people within the evangelical community. One of them, an elderly member, after listening to the father’s chilling story, decided to privately confront the 83-year-old, who admitted his guilt and promised to stop the molestation: “Yes it’s true I molested her I feel like crap!”the arrested man is said to have said. An admission he later also made to the little girl’s parents.
Between April and May of this year, however, the mother saw her daughter again close to the religious man despite the man having been expressly forbidden to pick her up and also not to let her enter his room again. And a new meeting was organized within the community. That day – we are last July – pressed by all those present, the man admitted to having molested the child again. On that occasion the entire conversation was recorded by the victim’s father and is now part of the investigation documents.
The priest presented a written resignation from his role as pastor but with the clause that it would be temporary. According to the investigators, the elderly man would show an inability to self-control, also considering that, always according to the accusations, the facts reported by the little girl would be only a part. Now the religious man is under house arrest in his homein Trentino. The little girl and her family were instead welcomed into another accommodation.
