Children can seek treatment at PHCs even if their illness is not serious

Doha – For non-serious health problems for children above five years of age, Govt. Emergency care is available at health centers. No prior approval is required to seek service. Health card registered centers can seek services without prior permission.

If the disease is not severe

∙ Mild fever, sore throat, earache, respiratory infections etc. can be treated at 29 centers in the country and 8 urgent care units of PHCC.

∙ Urgent care units will operate 24/7.

∙ Urgent Care Unit can also be sought for minor burns, sprains, headaches, high fever, dehydration, fatigue and other non-life threatening illnesses.

∙ The service is available irrespective of which health center is registered.

For serious diseases

∙ If the disease is serious, you should visit Hamad Medical Corporation’s pediatric emergency centers and seek treatment.

∙ Ambulance service can also be sought by dialing 999.

Urgent care units

Urgent care units are located in Umsalal, Maitar, Al Ruwais, Rawdat Al Khail, Garafat Al Rayan, Abu Bakr Siddique, Al Shihaniya and Al Kaban health centers.

∙ Pediatric services are also available at Al Sadd, Al Rayan, Al Waqra, Al Khor, Al Dayeen and Airport health centers.
