Virudhunagar: In Virudhunagar, children are defying traffic rules and riding two-wheelers and having adventures in them. These people who have not reached the age of obtaining a license are traveling at high speed on two-wheelers and there is a risk of accidents.

Parents buy state-of-the-art race bikes for their children at will. In this, there are incidents where they go on high speed and go on adventurous journeys. Now this culture has increased in Virudhunagar district as well.

Children drive two-wheelers in violation of the rules on the bazaars, main roads and four-lane roads of Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Aruppukkottai, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputhar areas.

They also do ‘wheeling’ adventure in it. Accidents are on the rise as police do not condemn and parents support such activities. Children who go to school mostly walk, cycle or bus to school depending on the distance. But nowadays students are going to school on two wheelers.

Parents support this because of overcrowding on buses and the risk of getting stuck on steps and not being able to get to and from school every day.

Due to the lack of awareness in driving, not only do they become dangerous, but other vehicles also get affected.

The High Court has also advised that parents are responsible if children are driving. The police should pay special attention to prevent such violations from happening.
