Children from the fourth group of “Brezichka” Kindergarten in Sofia and their teachers recreated Easter traditions and made festive decorations at the Ministry of Education and Science. This is reported by the press center of the ministry.
The construction and technology lesson was part of Minister Galin Tsokov‘s “Open Classroom” initiative at the MES. “Today, on the eve of one of the brightest Christian holidays, you bring joy, happiness and a lot of love,” he welcomed his little guests.
In front of the portrait of Ivan Vazov, the children recited his poems, including “Prayer” and “I am Bulgarian”, and they learned from the minister that the patriarch of Bulgarian literature was also the minister of education.
To their question: “Is it good to be a minister?” Prof. Tsokov answered that the responsibility is very big, because it is important to make good decisions for kindergartens and schools, as well as for their principals and teachers. “When we do that that you feel good in the kindergarten and then in school, that brings satisfaction”, explained the minister.
Under the guidance of their teachers Maya Kotseva and Atidje Ali, the children made an Easter decoration, through which they built skills to cut along outlines and fold as directed. It was shown how their creativity develops when shaping their own model. The children worked with colored paper, glue, scissors and markers. With the help of their teachers, they talked about the traditions of Easter and performed the poem “Easter Candle” by Ran Bosilek and the song “Dream of Sunrise”.
At the final, they made an exhibition at the Ministry of Education and Culture of holiday cards, colored eggs and Easter bunnies, which they made themselves from different materials. “You were extremely good with the songs, the poems, and the Easter decoration you made,” the minister praised the children.
“You work alongside your teachers who support you. Kindness is everywhere among you and I wish it to be so at school and throughout your life,” Prof. Tsokov addressed them at the end of the lesson. He congratulated the teachers and the kindergarten director Ivanka Harbalieva for showing what modern means education. They also received a plaque from the Ministry of Education and Culture for participating in the “Open Classroom” initiative.
The open lesson was also attended by Deputy Minister Emilia Lazarova, Natalia Michalevska, the head of the minister’s office, experts from the ministry, etc.
