Jeddah: Engineers Hisham bin Abdul Muneem, Assistant Under Secretary and Ministry Spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, said children under the age of five can enter Makkah and Madinah with their parents. However, children under the age of five are not allowed to perform Umrah and prayers at Rawda in Madinah.

Parents can bring their children under the age of five with them when entering the mosques for prayers after the law came into force that does not require prior permission to enter the Masjid al – Haram in Makkah and the Masjid al – Nabawi in Madinah. Both nationals and foreigners within Saudi Arabia are not required to be vaccinated to enter two mosques. At present, however, entry is not permitted for Kovid victims and those who have been in close contact with Kovid victims.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that foreign pilgrims will be given a permit to perform Umrah regardless of their vaccination status and their quarantine condition has been withdrawn. Meanwhile, the ministry said that the rumors circulating that the issuance of permits for performing Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan had been stopped were false and that bookings for Umrah for Ramadan were still available on the Itamarna and Tawakkalna apps, despite the good traffic.
